2. How children can be caused to read

To read aloud - to lecture - the first child is the reading pioneer
Reading is a mentally complex activity requiring some training. This training can be stimulated with children when adult persons are lecturing stories to the children, for example always in the evening before sleeping (when the children are in their beds already), or during a certain afternoon. With this it's important that father and mother are alternating with reading because the children principally always want to hear both voices, the higher and the lower voice. That means: Children want to hear all the sounds of their parents as a story would be lectured in stereo. From a certain point of time on, children want to copy "reading", and they are curios for the letters, and then the lecturing of the first syllables can begin.

Well, the first child of a family has always most of difficulties, and this first child is the "pioneer" in reading. Therefore the parents have to give a special support teaching reading to the first child, so the child is not loosing in the class at school. Because many classmates are not the "first child" and for them it's more easy to learn to read.

That means: The following children of a family can copy what the first child can read already, or they let help by the first child. And therefore the following children are much more faster in learning reading. There can be for example that the first child is learning reading with 6 years, and the second child is taking the school books when it's only 4 years old and is learning reading with 5 already - without one single lesson.

Some children's stories can be purchased also on CD or on cassette, and when this is the case, the children can hear the stories, and can read the book at the same time.

A family without violence lets develop in the child a natural curiosity for useful things
Well, principally it's not at all important in what age a child can read, but it's important if a family is living without violence, and it's important what kind of books are read in the family, so a natural curiosity will install itself in the children's heart. Therefore the children from 8 years on will develop a thirst for knowledge "for more", and they take the ideas from their surroundings, not only from their family, but also from the school, from neighboring families, from children's libraries, from holiday camps etc.

Painting and putting letters

During the first time of learning reading the letters are varied, or complete rows of letters are written. There are also letter cases or scrabble letters composing words, and funny plays can be with it. There can also be "practice" exercises showing the children precisely where letters can be found in public, not only street names, but also posters, price labels etc.

Yes, and of course the family is encouraged to take care so no letters will be lost with these letter cases or scrabble games.

Children's books with drawings for coloring
Very important are the children's books where many drawings can be colored so there will be a connection with the story not only by reading, but also by painting the drawings. Therefore books with photos are not so good for children, but the drawings should be for painting. Such children's books with drawings for painting are for example Pippi Longstocking or Jim Button. Principally it's very sad that this concept with drawings for painting is not applied more often.

Books about favorite hobbies - children's review
Parents can support reading of their children also by purchasing books about their favorite hobbies, or a children's review can be subscribed, or one can visit a book mass. Eventually the children - when they see th children's review - they will even develop the will to write own articles.

One more enrichment are stays of the family in foreign countries where another language is spoken, and the children are confronted with new words which are translated by the parents then.

Since 10 or 11 children are reading by their own
Since 10 or 11 years children mostly want to read alone and generally don't want to have their parents with them any more. Now can be that the children even have their own little library. The complex procedure of reading is assuming an independent reality and then the children during youth are developing their mental steps, eventually also learning foreign languages, so comparisons with other languages will be possible, and this is one more cultural enrichment again.

Exaggerated reading has to be regulated
Exaggerated reading should be regulated by the parents. So, when the child is walking and reading at the same time, this is dangerous and not so intelligent, of when the child is reading but there is hardly no light damaging to it's eyes to this is not so intelligent either, or when the child is more reading than sleeping because the story is that "exciting" the parents also are encouraged to take regulating measures. Perhaps parts of the story can be put into scenery calming down the heart and relativizing the content. One can make excursions and show other topics to the child distracting the child a little bit.
