Long before classical medicine invented antibiotics, nature held for man the best and most powerful remedy against viruses, harmful bacteria and fungi: colloidal silver.

The history of colloidal silver

The healing properties of silver were already known in ancient times. Silver was probably first used for medicinal purposes in ancient Egypt. The Greeks, Romans, Persians, Indians [from India] and Chinese also had use for it in their medicine. In the Middle Ages, the physician Paracelsus (1493-1541) used processed silver amalgam in laxative baths to remove mercury from the body. The abbess and teacher of natural healing, Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), used silver as a remedy for phlegm and coughs.

Konrad von Megenberg, a Regensburg [Jesus Fantasy] canon and poly professor from the 14th century, mentioned in his "Book of Nature" (orig. German: "Buch der Natur") that silver - processed into powder, mixed with noble ointments - helps "against the tough rottenness" in the body. He recommended it, among other things, for scabies, bleeding hemorrhoids and metabolic weakness.

The nobles kept their supplies - water and food - in silver boxes and in silver containers and ate exclusively with silver cutlery from silver tables. Generally, silver was a means to keep away evil demons and diseases. Scraped silver was also mixed with various plants to cure rabies, dropsy, nosebleeds and many other diseases.

The American settlers who moved west and the gold miners put silver dollar coins in their water containers to have the water clean for longer time. Milk also kept its freshness longer this way. So silver was also known for a long time for its preservative effect.

In the middle of the 19th century, silver was discovered in its colloidal form as a healing agent. At the beginning of the 20th century, silver was intensively studied by numerous scientists and recognized as a proven germicidal agent. Prestigious journals such as "Lancet", "Journal of the American Medical Association" and the "British Medical Journal" published articles on the miraculous healing properties of colloidal silver. At the same time, pharmaceutical companies were conducting their antibiotic research, and since these, unlike silver, could be patented and sold for expensive money, colloidal silver was out of the news - although the silver water is superior to all chemical antibiotics.

What exactly is colloidal silver?

Scientifically, one speaks of a colloidal system when three conditions are fulfilled:

1. Different components must be present, such as silver and water.
2. The components must belong to different phases, such as liquid/solid or gaseous/liquid.
3. The particles must not be soluble.

Accordingly, colloids are heterogeneous, multiphase and insoluble.

Colloid particles are the smallest particles of any material without loosing the individual properties. The next level of fragmentation would be the atom itself. The particle size is typically between 10-7 and 10-9 nm. A single colloid particle is roughly equivalent to an atomic aggregate of 103 to 109 atoms. This corresponds to a size of 1-10nm. As a comparison, imagine a red blood cell with 7.5µm (7.5µm = 7500nm). This means that a red blood cell is about 750 times larger than a colloidal particle.

These particles are in distilled water and carry an electric charge. Since equal charges repel each other, they hold each other in suspension. Colloids play a very important role in nature - without them there would be no life! All life processes in a cell, the building blocks of living things, are based on colloidal state forms. Better than by a rigid definition, which could only be very fuzzy, the term "colloid" can be explained by familiar examples of colloidal systems: Milk, mayonnaise, cosmetics (also called emulsions, namely droplets in liquid); whipped cream (gas in liquid); butter (droplets in solid); smoke (particles in gas); mist (droplets in gas). Other examples of colloids include freshly squeezed orange juice, detergents, the coating of films, and also smoke or mist. Not to forget the blood and lymph, which are also in a colloidal state

"By breaking it down into microscopic particles, the total surface area is enormously increased and also the effect. In addition, the ability to penetrate the body and reach even remote locations is enormously improved. Silver colloids are particularly interesting because the precious metal silver is the best natural electrical conductor," write Werner Kühni and Walter von Holst in their guidebook Colloidal Silver as Medicine (orig. German: Kolloidales Silber als Medizin - Link).

Mode of action

Silver in all forms (ions, atoms, particles) has a direct or indirect germicidal effect.

Due to their small size, the tiny silver molecules penetrate all unicellular parasites such as bacteria, viruses and fungi and their spores and suffocate them by blocking an enzyme responsible for oxygen production there. The metabolism of the parasites thus comes to a standstill and they die.

There is no bacterium known that is not killed by colloidal silver - even pathogenic microorganisms that are already immune to antibiotics die. Worms are also attacked. These killed parasites are then transported away from the body and excreted. Experience shows that intact skin cells and health-promoting bacteria are not damaged during treatment with colloidal silver - the enzymes of beneficial cells remain intact and are not attacked.

However, even today the mode of action is not fully understood. Recent studies explain to us how colloidal silver probably acts against the invaders in and on our body:

-- Colloidal silver probably kills viruses via the formation of DNA and/or RNA silver complexes or destruction of nucleic acids;
-- it kills protozoa, plasmodia, and fungi, including their spores, and attacks worms, perhaps via inhibition of phosphate uptake and alteration of cell membrane permeability;
-- it inhibits the enzyme phosphomannose isomerase in yeast;
-- It suppresses histamine and prostaglandin release in allergic and inflammatory reactions;
-- it buffers excessive reactions of the immune system and thus alleviates allergic and inflammatory manifestations;
-- it has an astringent effect on the wound surface in open wounds and significantly accelerates healing. The skin remains elastic and cracks are less formed in areas subject to mechanical stress;
-- it reacts in the body like a free radical and binds excess electrons; in this way, it supports detoxification in the case of heavy metal pollution.

Mr. Dr. Robert O. Becker is a professor at the "American Syracuse University". He wrote a book "The Body Electric" describing his research result that silver has not only a devastating effect on forms hostile to life, but it also supports the formation of vital tissue. Namely, that "silver causes a profound healing stimulus to skin and other delicate tissues, unlike any natural process. (...) It promotes bone growth in a special way and accelerated the healing of injured tissue by more than fifty percent." Dr. Becker was astonished that colloidal silver promotes a new type of cell growth that looks like the formation of cells in children. "These cells grow rapidly, producing an amazing collection of primitive cell forms that are able to multiply at a high rate and then differentiate into the specific cells of an organ or injured tissue, even in patients over fifty years old." Dr. Becker even discovered that colloidal silver can turn cancer cells back into normal cells.

Dr. Becker also recognized a link between low silver levels and disease. The average amount of silver in the human body is 0.001 percent. Dr. Becker claims that low level is responsible for immune system dysfunction. Silver thus appears to play an important role in basic life processes.

Colloidal silver is far superior to conventional antibiotics in effectiveness, concerning side effects and concerning cost

However, too low a concentration and dosage rarely produces satisfactory results. One must keep in mind that just by diluting it with the blood, the initial concentration is already greatly reduced. Since our body is known to consist mostly of water, we get ppm values far behind the decimal point.

Experience has shown that for most applications a concentration of approx. 25 - 50 ppm and of this approx. 50 ml and more per day are optimal. Theoretically, however, even this amount would have to be much too low to achieve the germicidal effect mentioned. The fact that it nevertheless works has to do with the altered mode of action of colloids.

Furthermore, the ability of water to store and pass on information (similar to the homeopathic principle) could also play an important role.

It is precisely because of this contradiction between calculation and experience that so-called scientific methods have proven to be of very little use in adequately explaining the effects of colloidal silver.

Fields of application of colloidal silver

Colloidal silver can be used for the treatment of diseases, but also for prevention. The areas of application are versatile and wide-ranging.

For a systematic application, colloidal silver should be taken orally, preferably undiluted or diluted with water. However, it is recommended not to swallow the liquid immediately, but to keep it under the tongue for a few seconds first. Colloidal silver can also be administered intravenously or applied externally.

Important: Please note that you should not use a metal spoon or metal drinking vessel for ingestion - instead use a plastic, porcelain or wooden spoon. Metal spoons are desturbing the delicate electrical balance of the colloid.

We must not and do not want to make any promises of a cure here, so we do not recommend that you simply use colloidal silver when you are ill rejecting medical help. In any case of illness, speak with your doctor about the intake of colloidal silver so it may be element of the treatment.

Are there side effects?

Some dealers claim that colloidal silver is completely free of side effects. However, this is wrong! Some "CS opponents" [enemies of colloidal silver] are workers of the "American" health authorities and of the medicament authorities (FDA). They always mention argyrie, a gray skin by silver deposits. This problem came from badly applied silver salts or silver proteins - but this has nothing to do with colloidal silver being made by electroysis with pure silver. Argyrie was found only with some persons who had taken silver proteines during years - so no pure silver. For provoking an argyrie it needs an average of 3.8g of elementary silver, a cytologue Dr. Josef Pies indicates. This corresponds to about 375 liters with a 10ppm concentration. These would be 1875 200ml bottles per day. It's not known that an argyrie was provoked by a reasonable application of colloidal silver.

It is only important to use the purest silver (99.99%) and the right equipment when producing colloidal silver!

Important: At this point it is expressly warned against experiments with simple batteries and salt solutions, with which allegedly colloidal silver can be produced cheaply. Also against devices which do not control the water quality as well as temperature during the production, which do not have pulsed electrolysis during the production and where the production process does not end automatically when the ppm number is reached. Here, uncontrolled silver compounds, impurities and overdoses can occur.

So considering that the flux of information in the body - the communication of the cells - is managed by the flux of electrones, so we can imagine that an augmentation of the electric flux by colloidal silver has a certain effect. Every illness is just a blockage of the bioelectric energy flux. When the blockages are eliminated by the colloidal silver, the energies are reinstalled in their balance and the healing process can start."

Silver has an antibiotic effect, this has been known for thousands of years. Even the ancient Phoenicians knew that water, vinegar and wine retained their freshness in silver vessels. Also well documented is the use of colloidal silver - silver particles dissolved in a liquid - as an antibiotic in ancient Europe.

However, new research by scientists at Boston University shows that silver may be even far more effective than previously thought. That's because apparently adding silver to antibiotics can increase their effectiveness against antibiotic-resistant super pathogens, in some cases by a factor of a thousand.

The scientific study, published in June 2013 in the scientific journal Science Translational Medicine, was launched after a prominent physician in England warned that the emergence of "super pathogens" could become the trigger for an "apocalyptic scenario" in which conventional antibiotics no longer worked. The result, he said, will be widespread susceptibility to infection.

"The number of antibiotic-resistant strains in our hospitals and cities is increasing dramatically, and this happens since a long time already," said Dr. Jim Collins, co-author of the study. "At the same time, far fewer new antibiotics are being developed and approved. We're talking about a different approach. Instead of trying to develop a completely new antibiotic, we're trying to improve the efficacy of the ones we already have."

As Collins' team found out, adding a small amount of silver to standard antibiotics increases their effectiveness against infections by a factor of ten to a thousand. In some cases, even germs that were considered "untreatable" because of increasing antibiotic resistance could be fought again. Antibiotics with added silver proved particularly effective against pathogens that led to urinary tract infections and chronic stomach problems.

"This work shows that silver can be used to increase the effectiveness of existing antibiotics against Gram-negative bacteria, meaning a boost to the antibiotic arsenal to fight bacterial infections," Collins concluded.

Why not just use silver?

Of course, the work of Collins and his group is good experimenting with conventional treatments rejecting all pharma methods. But this detections provokes the question that the pharma scientists would never have the courage for: Perhaps it was just the silver healing and the antibiotic not at all? Just take silver alone? After all, it did help our ancestors.

Many studies prove, for example, that pure colloidal silver can cure infections of multi-resistant germs or candida, or render fungi and viruses harmless in the body. To take it, one does not need to combine it with synthetic chemicals. Nor do you need to make immoral corporations rich if you want it. Silver as a supplement is available to everyone (despite repeated attempts by the US Food and Drug Administration to ban it); may be it will be very loved in our difficult times.

<Nanosilver has been found to be an effective tool in fighting fierce oral infections. These findings are particularly valuable for denture wearers. However, potential use in humans is not undisputed.

In a recent study, Portuguese researchers looked at fungal infections caused by Candida albicans and Candida glabrata. They easily thrive in the mouths of denture wearers and can lead to thrush and dental stomatitis. The latter is a painful infection that affects about 70 percent of denture wearers.

The researchers from the University of Minho [Portugal] wanted to know: Can a silver nanoparticle solution make a difference here? They think so. The problem so far: such mouth infections are extremely difficult to treat. The microorganisms quickly form biofilms. Antibiotics can hardly fight this.

In the laboratory, the scientists created an environment similar to saliva. They then placed artificial biofilms on it. They then used different sizes of silver nanoparticles in the various fungus-infected environments. They then observed how the fungal infections spread. The researchers quickly found that the size of the silver nanoparticles did not play a role in the effectiveness of the eliminating action, but worked effectively in all conditions. One application of colloidal silver could be therefore in mouth rinses for denture wearers to prevent the formation of biofilms. But of course there is always people voting against it provoking controversy.>
