Energy without end: wave energy 02: Pelamis wave power plants (water snakes) 01
Pelamis wave power plant (pelamis=Greek: sea snake) - "Wave Snake" -
"Pelamis wave energy converter".
Aguçadoura (Portugal) 2012
In the open sea, it is possible to install pelamis snake power plants that work like snakes. The condition is that the sea does not go lower than 70m of depth, otherwise it is not possible to maintain the plants. This counts also for all other off-shore installations.
The company in 2022 has got the name "The European Marine Energy Centre Limited" at:
The Charles Clouston Building - ORIC - Back Road - Stromness - Orkney - KW16 3AW

Length 180m, diameter 4m, can be installed on the open sea to over 70m deep seabed. Three installations exist so far: at Aguçadoura near the coast of Portugal, near the island of Orkney in Scotland and near the town of Hayle in England [web01].

Floating wave energy power plant "Dexa Wave" (Holstebro, Northern Denmark).
Dexa Wave is a small "ship" with a joint in the middle and a small transformer station on top that adapts to the swell. Dexa Wave is from Holstebro, Denmark (DEXAWAVE A/S - Enghaven 49 - DK-7500 Holstebro - +45 8651 8690 - email: info@dexawave.com - http://www.dexawave.com) [web16].
The movement in the middle joint continuously produces energy 24 hours a day and night. Off Malta, the first practical test [web16] is underway at Marsascala [web17]. The conditions at Malta are a steady swell and a deep seabed [web18].
